Dr. Emilce Silvana Diaz

Emilce Silvina Díaz, Ph. D. is an associate professor in the Department of Biomedicine, Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Antofagasta in Chile, where she has been a member of the Faculty since 2005. Emilce completed her university studies and her Ph.D. at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina. From 2012 to 2017 she has been Vice President of the Ethics Committee of the University of Antofagasta. She currently serves as Director of the Graduate School of the University of Antofagasta. His research interests are in the area of reproductive biology, from gamete physiology to assisted fertilization. Specific interests in Díaz’s laboratory include the participation of integrins and extracellular matrix proteins in the physiology of sperm in mammals, especially humans. His research has been funded by the National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development (FONDECTY), Latin American Program for Training and Human Reproduction (PLACIRH), The National Agency for Scientific and Technological Promotion (ANPCyT), etc. Dr. Díaz is a member of the Society of Sexual Reproduction, member and member of the Board of the Chilean Society of Reproduction and Development, and member of the Argentine Society of Andrology.
