Dr. Morin Lang Tapia
Associate researcher
Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology, Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Antofagasta, Chile. Master in Occupational Health and Safety, with specialization in Ergonomics, Granada, Spain (2008). PhD in Physical Activity and Health, University of Granada, Spain (2011). Postdoctoral Studies Degree in High Altitude Clinical Research, Department of Cardiology, S. Luca Hospital, Italian Auxologico Institute, Milan, Italy (affiliated to the Chair of Cardiovascular Medicine, Department of Health Sciences, School of Medicine, University of Milano-Bicocca) (2015). Dr. Lang has conducted several research fellowships at specialized laboratories in High Altitude Physiology and Environmental Extreme Conditions, of which is collaborator researcher until now as: Compared Physiology Laboratory (University Cayetano Heredia, Lima, Peru); Adaptive Physiology (Universitat de Barcelona, Spain), Italian Auxologico Institute, Milan, Italy; and Institute of Physiology, Center for Space Medicine and Extreme Environments Berlin, Charité Universitätsmedzin Berlin. Dr. Lang has been actively involved in different projects in the context of the high altitude clinical research as HIGHCARE-ANDES (Cardiovascular Research altitude in the Andes). Researcher at the Research Center in Physiology and High Altitude Medicine of the University of Antofagasta and NEXER Project. Coordinator of Research and Professional Internship of the University of Antofagasta in the mining company Maria Inés de Collahuasi. Specialist in Cardiac Rehabilitation. Dr. Lang reached expertise in exercise clinical physiology in selected patient populations, including children and young people, the elderly, subjects with cardiovascular risk factors and chronic diseases. As a research fellow developed great experience in cardiovascular, respiratory and metabolic physiological parameters assessments as blood pressure monitoring, hear rate variability at rest and maximal and submaximal exercise, and principally cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET). Currently is the principal investigator on the Fondecyt Project Investigation on the prevalence and blood pressure response in miners exposed to chronic intermittent hypoxia in Chile
