Alejandro Miranda is a Natural Resources Engineering of Universidad de Chile and obtained a doctoral degree in Forest Ecosystems at Universidad Austral de Chile. Currently is a researcher in the Landscape Ecology and Conservation laboratory of Universidad de La Frontera and has a postdoctoral position in the Center for Climate and Resilience Research (CR2) in Universidad de Chile. His main research topics are landscape ecology and applied remote sensing and geographic information system to native forest monitoring and change. Other research areas are land use and land cover change, ecological restoration and modelling, and spatial analysis of forest fires.
