To Discover and explain the distribution patterns of the Antarctic and sub-Antarctic bentos associated with abiotic processes and their biogeographic relationships. These studies are carried out through taxonomy applied to various groups, such as molluscs and crustaceans, in collaboration with associate researchers.

Author of 30 scientific publications between 2002 and 2019 on the subject of molluscs and benthic invertebrates. Of these, 20 are indexed in the SJR, Scientific Journal Rankings (ISI). Author and editor of four books: on Antarctic Mollusks (2010) on the Bernardo O’Higgins National Park (2011) and on Magellan Seabeds (2011, 2012). Participation in 23 research projects: Six as co-investigator and five as director or principal investigator. Presentation of 82 communications in conferences, meetings and / or scientific symposia between 2001 and 2016.
