Dr (c). Salazar is graduated from La Frontera University (Chile) with formation in the field of biotechnology. Currently, Dr (c). Salazar is a student of the Doctoral Program in Sciences mention Applied Cell and Molecular Biology and also a researcher at the Applied Molecular Biology laboratory (LBMA), from the Center of Excellence in Traslational Medicine. His doctoral thesis project is based in the characterization of pigments from Antarctic origin of biotechnological interest, aiming for future applications in pharmaceutical industries. During his career, Dr (c). Salazar has participated in projects related to extreme environments and also acquired academic experience as responsible of laboratory courses (general chemistry) as well as guest teacher in Molecular Diagnosis course.
